Non Destructive Assay (NDA) for Nuclear Waste Characterization

Calorimetry is the technique with the highest sensitivity for characterizing nuclear materials and waste.
When radioactive waste material in a container emits ? and ? radiation (e.g. from curium, plutonium, tritium, etc.) it also emits an amount of heat that is proportional to the quantity of radioactive material. This heat emission can be quantified using a SETARAM calorimeter.
SETARAM instrumentation's large-volume calorimeters (from 1 l to 90 l) can detect thermal radiation levels of just a few ?W.
